Dr. Matthew Tsai grew up in Walnut, California. After completing his bachelor’s degree in Japanese and psychobiology from UCLA. He left the sunshine and went to the snowy northeast to complete his dental degree at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Drawn by the great outdoors of the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Tsai moved to Oregon and obtained his MS degree and certificate in orthodontics at Oregon Health and Science University.
Dr. Tsai fully believes in a patient-centered approach when it comes to orthodontics. He is attentive to details and works with the rest of the Castilla Orthodontics team to give our patients healthy and beautiful smiles. Dr. Tsai is committed to creating customized orthodontic treatments that optimize for growth, function, aesthetics, stability, and long-term oral health. The opportunity to see his patients become progressively more confident with their smiles crystallized Dr. Tsai’s passion for the field.
Dr. Tsai’s hobbies include basketball, roller coasters, hiking, and traveling. He also considers himself a donut connoisseur! He enjoys visiting different countries, learning about their different cultures, and exploring their food scene. Some of his favorite experiences include studying abroad in Kyoto, Japan, and volunteering for the Special Olympics in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
